Building Credibility And Trust With Your Potential Customer

Did you know many people automatically ignore anything online that looks like a banner ad? Yup, it’s so popular the phrase “banner blindness” has been coined to describe how people tend not to notice things that look like a banner or are placed in locations on a page where a banner ad would usually be placed. People ignore blinking and flash text, too.

If you really want to irritate your target market but good, make sure your site forces horizontal scrolling to see everything on the page. This brings us to an important point. Think about screen resolution when designing your Web site. If your Web site is designed for 1024 x 768 and higher, you could be eliminating upwards of 25 percent of your market, generally speaking, who prefer a screen resolution of 800 x 600. Again, a good designer will help
you make the right design-related decisions for your site.

If you are looking to appeal to international markets, then you should design around those individual audiences to reflect cultural differences and preferences. In China, the color red is representative of happiness. In Egypt, the color red is associated with death. All we want you to take away from this section is that you should know for whom you are designing. The quality of the design of your Web site plays an extremely influential role in building credibility and trust with your potential customer. Design for your customer. Take the time to get it right. Be inviting.
