There are many factors why finding a good job is difficult, first is because the number of the vacancies are not as many as the people who want to apply for it, so only the best of the best are accepted. The next reason is because the economic condition is not is its best condition, so many companies will not look for new employees unless they are urgently needed.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the many ways to deal with this is to open our own business or in the other word, become a businessman. There are many advantages of course that we can get if we open our own business, but to establish it, you will need capital and also knowledge about the industry that you want to enter. If we see from the future prospect, establish a merchandising company is a good idea because we only need to find a supplier and sell their products. After we decide the type of the business, now it’s the time to decide the product that we are going to sell. Instead, the focus is on quality rather than quantity. Today, affiliate managers would rather focus on the active affiliates providing them with much more personalized service. These affiliate managers have to monitor and police affiliates to make sure they are in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, are in compliance with spam policies and legislation, and are not doing anything to damage the merchant’s reputation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Program management is another area that has changed quite dramatically. In the olden days, a merchant would provide access to banners through its extranet, and there was little communication between the merchant and the affiliates. Today program management is critical to the success of an affiliate marketing program. Merchants have a person or a team responsible for “feeding” the affiliates new material, new techniques, and new ideas to increase their business.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Today we have an increasing number of smart Internet marketers who are in it for the money. They are good at what they do, enjoy doing it, and are looking for great affiliate marketing programs with great products, a great compensation program, and great affiliate managers providing them with great tools and service to do what they do best.</p>

The cost to implement these affiliate programs was a significant investment for a business. The attitude of merchants was the more affiliates the better.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Affiliate marketing is ideal for merchants in that fees are only paid on performance. Fees can be set as a fixed amount or as a percentage. Payment can be made on cost-per-click, cost-per-sale, cost-per-action, or cost-per-lead basis. Most often the referral fee is paid on the sale as a percentage of the sale; however, there are many cost-per-action campaigns in existence. A popular example of the cost-per-action is a set fee for each person the affiliate encourages to join a merchant’s e-club or e-specials permission-based marketing list.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Today things are very different in the affiliate marketing world. No longer  are the links provided through banner ad type buttons on the affiliate’s site. Today affiliate marketing can be done through signature files, e-mails, autoresponder replies, help files, software products, games, viral marketing, java applets, demos, ftp sites, active-x controls, Flash, e-zine articles, blogs, RSS feeds, and e-books.</p>

Well, quite simply, it is advertising to Web users based on their previous behavior or activity on the Web. It is the process of identifying potential customers based on the searches they have done, sites they have visited, and specific actions they have taken, and then serving them an appropriate ad at the optimal time. The more you know about present and potential customers, the better you are able to market to them. Behavioral targeting technologies monitor and track the sites visited, the content read, and the actions taken by individuals on the Web. This is done anonymously meaning they don’t collect personally identifiable information like name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is done by way of cookies that are installed on the surfer’s computer as he or she views ads from online advertising networks. The surfer’s actions are then tracked and stored in a database things like Web sites visited, how long he or she stayed on specific content pages, etc. The databased information is then analyzed and used to predict future behavior based on past experience of others in the database. Behavioral ad networks then serve targeted advertising to those individuals whenever they visit a site that is served ads by their network.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Behavioral targeting can be implemented several ways. It can be implemented through a Web site, through an advertising network, or on your computer through adware. Behavioral advertising uses leading-edge, real-time technologies. It is hot because it is targeted and it works. According to a recent Ponemon study, behavioral targeted advertising is projected to increase by 65 percent in 2006.</p>

Other prominent contextual advertising networks include Kanoodle’s Context Target, IndustryBrains, AdSonar, and ContextWeb, to name a few. Blogger.com is a major network for contextual ads for blogs. <p style="text-align: justify;">Although contextual advertising and search advertising have many similarities (use the same pay-per-click pricing, targeted, based on keywords), contextual advertising is different from search advertising. Contextual advertising has a significantly lower conversion rate than search advertising primarily due to the fact that when someone is searching for something, he or she is definitely looking for that item and is likely more interested in purchasing; the searcher is considered a “shopper.” If someone is reading an article on something and clicks through on an ad he or she finds interesting, the reader may or may not be in the purchasing mode; the searcher is considered a “browser.” You will always convert more shoppers than browsers.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As with search advertising, when you are doing contextual advertising it is important to manage your campaigns. Plan your budget, diligently choose appropriate keywords, determine the appropriate bids for each of your keywords, and monitor and measure your results.</p>

on, your banner ad appeared at the top of the search results page. In 1998, GoTo.com appeared. GoTo.com was the first to provide Internet marketers the opportunity to do text advertising on search engines. GoTo subsequently changed its name to Overture and Overture was bought by Yahoo!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Today Google AdWords and Yahoo! Search Marketing are the main players in search advertising. Advertising with both of these will give you a reach of over 90 percent of the Internet search audience. Yahoo! Search Marketing and Google AdWords sell text-based keyword targeted ads through their own search engines as well as through a network of other search engines.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">At the time this book was written, Yahoo! Search Marketing provided keyword targeted ads to Yahoo!, MSN, AltaVista, CNN, AlltheWeb, Sympatico.ca; ISPs Juno and NetZero; meta-search sites like Dogpile, Webcrawler, and Web Crawler; Microsoft Internet Explorer; and tons of content sites including Advertising.com, Coolsavings.com, ESPN, National Geographic, Wall Street Journal, Knight Ridder, Consumer Review Network, and many more.Google provides targeted keyword ads to AOL, Lycos, AskJeeves, Netscape,Earthlink, CompuServe, Shopping.com, AT&amp;T Worldnet, About.com, The New York Times, Business.com, HGTV, and other heavily trafficked sites.</p>

<p class="first-child " style="text-align: justify;"><span title="D" class="cap"><span>D</span></span>HTML, Java, Javascript, and Flash would be among the most popular rich media programming technologies. Rich media is appealing to advertisers for a number of reasons. Brand recognition and message association can be achieved very effectively by using audio, video, and animation. Marketing content can be embedded in entertaining content and educational content for those consumers who don’t want advertising; hence, the significant growth in “advertainment” and “edutainment.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Marketers totally understand that consumers want to be in control and they do not want to be marketed to. Marketers understand that marketing should be so appealing that consumers want it and invite it into their lives and devices. Nielsen/NetRatings AdRelevance reports that rich media has risen steadily and significantly over the last five years. The rich media advertising is certainly more appealing to the consumer—more entertaining, more informative, more relevant, and more timely.</p>

Various sizes and placement techniques were tried. Animated banner ads saw a little increase in click-throughs. Drop-down menu banner ads were somewhat effective. Many techniques were employed, but with the exception of a few key areas, banner advertising continued to be viewed as generally ineffective. Targeted advertising on niche content sites was and still is very effective. For example, a meta-index or directory related to ski hills in Vermont would be a very effective site for a ski hill in Vermont to place a banner ad. Keyword banner advertising and geo-targeted banner advertising were still very effective.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The third generation of online advertising is seeing a resurgence. We are seeing a growth in popularity of high-impact rich media ads. The size and placement of ads has changed significantly. The major search engines have very effective keyword advertising programs that are continually being enhanced in terms of targeting. The demand by marketers for greater accountability in the return on investment they get for their ad dollars spent is being met. The results are encouraging them to invest more in this medium. Effective techniques are available for consumers who demand greater control over their media and marketing experiences.</p>
